The News joins the Indy
The Chapel Hill News was kind enough to endorse my campaign for Mayor. I am grateful to the CHN and the Independent for their endorsements. Here’s how the News saw it:

Yesterday the Independent Weekly released their much-anticipated endorsement issue. They wrote a pretty good analysis of the race, and we were pleased to see they endorsed Mark!
We’ve just posted a while bunch of new content to the site here. You can see it all in the issues category. A lot of it is from my campaign brochure, but I will be adding some further issue information this afternoon. I have a bunch of responses to candidate questionaires that I have written up and my website administrator will post those. Please keep the questions and comments coming. I enjoy the opportunity to talk to ya’ll!
Here are Mark’s responses to the Independent Weekly’s famously-lengthy candidate survey.
Establish a Bolin Creek Preserve
Buffer existing neighborhoods
Protect historic parts of downtown
Control town spending and taxes
Increase homeownership
Create more childcare options
Seek out public input on the issues
Consider all perspectives
Thomas, a Carrboro resident, wrote to ask the following question the other day: “Can you tell me more about your position on Carolina North, and how it
is distinct from your opponent’s?” Here are some of my thoughts . . .
Mark Chilton was elected to the Carrboro Board of Aldermen in 2003. He has served on numerous non-profit and governmental boards. Mark was elected to and served on the Chapel Hill Town Council from 1991 to 1997, making him the youngest person ever to have been elected to office in North Carolina (at age 21). Now 35, he is married and has two boys, Samuel and Alex.
