I would like to suggest a couple of thoughts for moving forward on the issue of housing affordability. Having reviewed the printed materials in advance of this meeting, I suggest that the various participating jurisdictions consider the following possible initiatives that we each might take:

Saturday was a long day. My mother was kind enough to volunteer to go out canvassing with me and we covered two small neighborhoods and one large one. I was out from 10 am til 4 pm and boy are my feet sore!

Here are a few thoughts on some key environmental concerns for our town. I prepared these notes for my interview with the Sierra Club . . .

You may remember that there was an area boy who was bitten on the Bolin Creek trails a few weeks ago. The owners took off without leaving their names or contact info and consequently the boy had to get a series of painful anti-rabies shots (because it could not be determined whether the dogs rabies vaccinations were up to date). There’s not much we can do about his situation, but there is at least something we can do to prevent future incidents . . .

I went out again on Sunday afternoon and had a good time canvassing. Pedometer reading: 14,527 steps (5.49 miles). This is a running total. I met a lot of nice folks. We talked about schools, a northern Fire Station, Bolin Creek, the focus on downtown and other topics.

Door-to-Door canvassing has always been my main method of campaigning and this year is no exception. I went out and knocked on about 100 doors yesterday covering (according to my trusty pedometer) 3,293 steps!
